ETHIKYOU

Founded in 2021, ETHIKYOU is a company specialized in CSR solutions. Initially in consulting, ETHIKYOU has extended its offering with the digital tool integrating its CSR expertise at the service of coaches, HR functions, managers and business leaders.

This choice stems from the conviction that the transformation of an organization is only possible with its most valuable asset: its human capital, which is crucial in implementing policies and resources, especially in terms of CSR.

This belief in people also inspired the name ETHIKYOU, derived from the Greek word “Ethikos,” which refers to ethics and morals that guide the pursuit of good in human life around the world.

Focusing on the potential within a person or an organization, ETHIKYOU should be understood as ETHIK from the Greek word, and YOU from the English pronoun, to address directly each individual or organization to carry out CSR activities.

Key Dates

Before 2021

The story of ETHIKYOU begins before its formal creation, as an extension of Boris Francioli's reflections on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).

With experience in CSR methodologies and analysis of companies, Boris questions the possibility of doing CSR analysis of humans, given the CSR stakeholders he had worked with, offering him a broad and multicultural vision of CSR. Among them, there are:

  • Institutions nurturing current CSR frameworks and regulations;
  • Actors building methodologies and indicators for CSR analysis of companies;
  • Companies needing to comply with regulations.

2021

Given the growing demand for his rare expertise, Boris founded ETHIKYOU (initially ETHIKUS Consulting) after 15 years in the CSR and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) field.

He conducts consulting activities and gathers the needs of his clients worldwide. This leads him to seek solutions to anticipate his clients' stakes to comply with ESG/CSR regulations. Simultaneously doing Assessment Center activities, he enriches his vision of human potential to drive CSR.

Thus, he revisits his reflections on the CSR analysis applied to human beings as a solution for his clients by envisioning a digital format.

2022 - 2023

Boris validates several identified needs among his clients (finance, retail, textile, start-ups, AI, etc.) that his rare expertise could address. From there, he considers enriching his ESG/CSR expertise with technology to design a real product.

At this level, he builds methodologies for CSR analysis of human beings with other experts (HR, psychologists, coaches, accountants, lawyers, salespeople, etc.), designs mockups for a prototype, discusses with IT developers to assess the feasibility of coding his methodologies, etc.

It is with maturity and a clear vision that the development of the ETHIKYOU platform begins.

2024

Despite a malicious developer causing the failure of the initial platform project, Boris perseveres and bounces back by surrounding himself with brilliant people.

This is the case with Marguerite who officially joins ETHIKYOU as Managing Partner. Key to finish the platform, she builds the network around Boris with diverse expertise. Alongside skilled and trustworthy developers, a high-performance platform was born to assess CSR in human beings.

Moreover, to demonstrate more directly the human potential for carrying CSR in organizations, Marguerite and Boris evolve the name ETHIKUS Consulting to ETHIKYOU, eponymous with the platform.

CEO

Since 2006, Boris has progressively developed a rare and full expertise in ESG/CSR, by starting his career with pioneering public institutions in these fields (ILO, PRI, UNEP FI, European institutions, French administration, etc.) with whom he contributed to the development of international ESG analysis principles and standards, as well as to emerging European regulatory trends. Indeed, alongside the founder of the UN Global Compact, then the author of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and a former minister in France, Boris has built ESG frameworks that are now used worldwide. In the same spirit, he was approached by a well-known CSR rating agency to develop one of the most internationally recognized ESG analysis methodologies.

Boris then went on to support companies in complying with French and European regulations related to CSR and sustainable finance (French Non-Financial Performance Statement (DPEF), Article 173 of the French Energy Transition Law, Article 29 of the French Climate Law, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, CSRD, etc.). Therefore, when assisting financial institutions in aligning with ESG requirements in their respective countries, Boris engaged with various local regulators (AMF in France, the AFM in the Netherlands, the CSSF in Luxembourg, ESMA in the EU, FINMA in Switzerland, MAS in Singapore, and the SEC in Thailand, etc.). This international and multicultural experience gives him deep ESG/CSR expertise, both from the view of the different jurisdictions in which he has worked and the companies he has served (APG, the biggest asset manager in the Netherlands and the Benelux region, one of the largest private banks in Switzerland, Crédit Mutuel, Generali, La Banque Postale, etc.).

This expertise has led Boris to teach in universities, speak at events across Europe, as well as to participate in Assessment Center activities to select and promote top-level executives in publicly listed companies. In doing so, he has authored and co-authored works for prestigious institutions. By the way, Boris holds Master’s degrees in Finance (Paris Dauphine) and in Public Law (Sorbonne Paris), along with a Master’s degree focused on European Law, an MBA and various specializations related to CSR from universities in France, the United States and Switzerland. He also holds the CFA certificate in ESG Investing, the AMF certification for investment professionals, and certifications from the International Scrum Institute as both a Scrum Master and Product Owner.

For ETHIKYOU, existence is not defined by what we have done, but by what we become. Life is an ongoing education that feeds a person’s potential through his experiences. This potential, present in each of us, is not measured solely by given situations, but by instinct, intuition, and sensitivities that are constants in our behaviors. When aligned with CSR, this potential can be a powerful asset for the company.

Boris Francioli, Founder of ETHIKYOU

Managing Partner

With a background in accounting and HR since 2010, Marguerite has worked in a variety of companies (accounting firms, start-ups, VSEs/SMEs, large corporations, etc.). She began her career as a Junior Accountant before becoming Sole Accountant, Accounting Manager, and then International Accounting Manager, confirming both her managerial experience and her expertise in accounting. Marguerite has also developed a specialization in human resources, particularly from an operational perspective (personnel administration, payroll management, recruitment, employer branding, compensation). In this area, she has participated in various projects, such as implementing an HRIS (career management).

This experience has led her to develop a keen awareness of issues related to quality of work and the CSR dimension in the professional environment. With her expertise in figures and her HR background, she gradually began working as a consultant at the intersection of these fields before progressing to a broader perspective as a transition manager. transformation. In doing so, she has played an active role in driving change in companies of all sizes, leveraging her expertise in accounting, her HR specialization, and her commitment to CSR. This enabled her to drive business transformation through their core levers, accounting data and people, by incorporating a CSR dimension.

Marguerite holds a Master’s degree in HR, transformation and human development (IESEG School of Management). She has developed and built on her skills with methodologies, inter alia, in HR strategy, coaching, employee engagement, change management, organizational transformation, and CSR. By the way, her dissertation focused on the interaction between regulatory issues and CSR impacts on corporate transformation.

Why ETHIKYOU?

ETHIKYOU was founded to support companies in navigating challenges arising from the accelerating regulatory landscape surrounding CSR at both the European and French levels, which now imposes legal frameworks on practices that were once voluntary.

This is exemplified by the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) in Europe, which has transformed CSR reporting, including the French Non-Financial Performance Declaration (DPEF).

In response to this tightening regulatory environment, ETHIKYOU has expanded its traditional consulting services to include an innovative digital solution designed to mitigate risks and create opportunities for companies undergoing transformation through CSR.

Increasing Obligations for More Businesses

Approximately 50,000 companies in Europe are required to publish a CSR report under the CSRD!

The CSRD is the most important directive in the European CSR regulatory framework, which is made up of several regulations. In recent years, these regulations have become more and more stringent, specifically affecting certain business sectors, then sometimes all sectors.

These European regulations include the SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation), which has been aimed at financial players since 2021, and the Green Taxonomy since 2022, which is aimed at all sectors, following the example of the CSRD or CSDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive), which targets several sectors. In Europe, these regulations share common logics and requirements, creating similar trends outside Europe.

For instance, in recent years, countries around the world have adopted CSR-related regulations that include shared principles with those in Europe. Concrete examples can be found in countries in the Americas (Brazil, United States), Africa (South Africa, Morocco), Asia (China, Singapore), and Oceania (Australia, New Zealand).

These regulatory trends are inevitably prompting companies’ internal and external stakeholders to take extra-financial issues into consideration in their CSR policies. So, whether it’s the demands of regulations or stakeholders, companies have no choice but to evolve and transform their business models in order to survive.

To facilitate this inevitable organizational transformation, companies must develop their CSR potential both in terms of policies and strategies, as well as at the level of their collaborators.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support companies worldwide in their transformation through CSR, with a particular emphasis on human capital, which is the most valuable asset of any organization.

ETHIKYOU’s mission goes beyond consulting services for regulatory compliance projects and CSR initiatives, to raise the CSR potential of companies and their employees. Indeed, at ETHIKYOU, we believe that this potential, put in perspective with the spirit of CSR, is a precious treasure to enable the transformation through CSR of companies subject to the current and future demands of regulations and stakeholders.

Ignoring this treasure is tantamount to depriving an employee of his or her full potential, and depriving a company of the ability to transform itself in a profound and lasting way. In short, to survive and thrive as the world evolves.

ETHIKYOU thus facilitates the assessment of this potential and offers consulting services to guide companies in their CSR efforts (regulatory compliance, strategy development, training, business analysis, etc.).

The Values that Guide Us

Integrity

We act honestly in all circumstances and strive to remain as objective as possible, relying on scientific approaches to advise our clients.

Client Commitment

We prioritize customer satisfaction and deliver the best of our expertise while being transparent about our methodological limitations.

Innovation

We encourage creativity and embrace unconventional approaches to develop solutions that align with regulatory and voluntary trends in CSR.

Openness to the Others

We value the potential within our collaborators to deliver different solutions for transformation through transverse and multicultural CSR.

Our Vision

With these values and their synergy, Marguerite and Boris foster a corporate culture that embraces the potential within each individual, breaking down social determinism and limiting beliefs that hinder the ability to unveil one’s natural potential. This conviction embodies the essence of ETHIKYOU, which believes in the potential of employees at all levels of an organization to drive transformation required by regulations and stakeholders worldwide.

We recognize that this transformation must extend beyond mere regulatory compliance, as stakeholders, including clients and recent graduates, are no longer convinced by the superficial adoption of imposed CSR requirements as a means to demonstrate ethical values.

In this reality, where CSR is becoming a central issue in a company’s long-term viability, we see the need to reveal the CSR potential of the human being, who represents a treasure present in every employee. Whatever their origins or beliefs, every employee has a treasure within them, but like all treasures, it’s hard to find.

In the case of CSR human assessment, finding this potential requires methodologies and objective approaches based on CSR/ESG dimensions. This is where ETHIKYOU’s vocation begins, putting CSR at the heart of the human factor to enable companies to tap into this treasure with access to tools and indicators.

Beyond this human CSR analysis, ETHIKYOU provides a development cooperation solution through its digital platform, which takes into account the main regional particularities in terms of CSR and regulations. Indeed, by revealing the CSR potential of individuals around the world, ETHIKYOU aims to demonstrate synergies despite different visions and cultures.
